Privacy Policy.
The short version: your document content stays in your browser by default. The exceptions are clearly named below.

TL;DR: Everything you type into your document templates — names, addresses, work history, finances, all of it — stays inside your own web browser. We never see it.
One exception, fully optional: If you choose to send feedback through our form, the message reaches us through our form provider (Formspree). Name and email are optional — you can stay anonymous if you don't need a reply. We also collect anonymous usage stats via Google Analytics unless you opt out.
What we DON'T collect
- Names, emails, phone numbers, or any personal information you enter into templates
- Work history, salary information, or resume content
- Invoice client details, payment information, or business records
- Budget figures, income, or expense data
- Cover letter content or job application details
- Photos, logos, or any files you upload
All form data lives only in your browser's local storage on your own device. Closing your browser tab, or clicking "Clear all and start over," removes it.
What we DO collect (anonymous)
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — which templates are popular, which features get used, how many visitors we get. This helps us improve. Google Analytics collects:
- Anonymous page views (which pages you visit)
- General device type (mobile, desktop, browser)
- Approximate region (country/state, never exact location)
- Anonymous event data (e.g., "someone downloaded a PDF" — but never the content)
This data is anonymized by Google and cannot identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser extension.
When you contact us
If you choose to send feedback or a testimonial through our form, the message is delivered through Formspree. Name and email fields are optional — you can stay anonymous if you don't need a reply. If you do include your email, we use it only to reply to your message. We don't add you to any mailing list or share your information with anyone.
If you check the box giving permission to share your testimonial on the site, we may publish it with the name and role you provide. You can email us anytime to remove it.
Cookies and tracking
We use minimal cookies:
- Google Analytics cookies for anonymous usage stats (described above)
- Local storage (technically not a cookie) to save your work-in-progress so you can come back to it later
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels from social networks, or third-party analytics beyond Google Analytics.
External services we use
- Netlify — hosts the website (sees your IP for serving pages, like any web server)
- Google Fonts — serves the fonts (Google may log font requests)
- Cloudflare CDN — serves JavaScript libraries (html2pdf, JSZip)
- Formspree — handles the feedback form (only if you submit feedback)
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage stats (described above)
Your rights
Because we don't collect or store your personal data, there's nothing for you to request or delete on our end. The data you enter is in your own browser — you control it completely. To delete it, click "Clear all and start over" in any template, or clear your browser's site data for simpledoctools.com.
For GDPR/CCPA users: since we don't collect personal data, there's no data to request, port, or delete from our servers. For your feedback messages (if you've sent any), use the Feedback form on the main site to request removal.
Children
SimpleDocTools is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any data from anyone. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our feedback form, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Major changes will be announced in the site's footer or via a banner notification.
