Why SimpleDocTools?
Built for people who hate wrestling with software just to make a document.
Fast
Pick a template, fill it out, download as PDF. Most people finish a resume in under 5 minutes — and you don't even need to make an account.
Free Forever
No trials, no paywalls, no "upgrade to download." Every template, every feature, every download is genuinely free. We mean it.
Private
Your document data stays in your browser. We don't see, store, or sell what you type. If you send us feedback, name and email are optional — you can stay anonymous if you don't need a reply.
Built on a simple promise.
No accounts. No data leaving your browser. No paywall. The product is the proof — every claim below is verifiable by checking the page source or running the site offline.
Your data stays on your device
Resumes, invoices, budgets — everything you type is saved to your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to our servers. Open DevTools → Network tab while you type. You'll see no outbound traffic.
No account, no email, no signup
There is no signup form on this site. There is no login button. You can start using any template within seconds of landing. No "free trial," no credit card prompt later.
Works fully offline
Service worker caches the entire app. Once loaded, you can disconnect Wi-Fi and keep editing. PDFs still generate. Try it: load the page, turn off your internet, refresh.
WCAG 2.0 AA accessible
Skip-to-main link, focus traps in every modal, visible focus indicators, screen-reader labels throughout. Tested with keyboard navigation and the WAVE accessibility checker.

A note from the builder. I'm Vikram Jeet — I built SimpleDocTools because I was tired of free template sites that asked for a credit card after I'd already filled in my resume. This site will never do that. If you find a bug or want a template I don't have, the feedback form below goes straight to me. Connect on LinkedIn →

Academic CV Template
The Academic CV Template is structured for the longer-form curriculum vitae expected in academic, research, and certain medical or legal contexts. Unlike a corporate resume, an academic CV traditionally includes detailed sections for education, publications, conference presentations, teaching experience, grants and awards, professional memberships, and references — and it grows in length as your career progresses rather than staying capped at one or two pages. This template handles multi-page output natively, with consistent header treatment across pages, clear section breaks, and pagination that works correctly when exported to PDF. Use this template if you are applying to academic faculty positions, research scientist roles, postdoctoral fellowships, PhD programs, certain medical roles, or any position where a traditional CV (not a resume) is requested. The typography uses a classical serif body font with restrained section headers — the visual language expected by academic search committees, which lean conservative. Edit each section in the live editor; the preview updates as you type. Download the finished CV as a PDF. ATS compatibility is not the primary concern for academic applications (most academic searches still review documents manually), but the layout is parseable by standard text extraction tools where it matters. No signup, no account creation, no email required. The editor runs in your browser; your CV data stays on your device. Free forever, no watermarks, no paywall at download.
